The All New 2011 Ford Taurus - You've got to see it to believe it!

The 2011 Ford Taurus is America's Most Innovative Full-Size Sedan. Take a closer look and we're sure you'll agree, this is not your mother's sedan. Clearly, the design team at Ford thought outside the ordinary box on this one. Instead, they focused on the details and sculpted an athletic profile that is perpetually poised. Exterior mirrors flow purposefully from the doors. Lines convey power and agility. Incandescent tail lamps pick up those same lines and glide around the back. It's all meant to pull you inside where there are countless reasons to never get out. Great interior lighting, unprecedented comfort and technology There's no question, the 2011 Taurus is changing the game and leaving the competition in the rear view mirror. Watch the demo videos below to see how the new Taurus matches up against Lexus, Infiniti, Acura and even a group of teenagers.

The Gravel Truck - 2011 Taurus vs. Lexus LS 460
There is paint. and then there's the ultrasound-tested-down-to-the-thousandth-of-an-inch paint finish of the new Taurus. Simply put, we don't believe in gloss over substance. Which Is why Ford engineers created a paint process with such exacting standards, it's resistant to chips. Even when a truck full of gravel is being hurled at it.

The Blind Spot - 2011 Taurus vs. Infiniti M45X
BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert is an available technology that uses radar to constantly check what's hidden in your blind spot. When a vehicle is approaching, a warning light illuminates in the corresponding mirror. Cross-traffic alert helps when slowly backing out by warning you of oncoming vehicles in either direction.

The Sound Check - 2011 Taurus vs. Acura RL
When measuring interior sound frequency levels, it's the normal conversion range that matters most to Ford engineers. As a reult of meticulous testing and design, the Taurus boasts exceptional interior quietness at every level, even when being subjected to 140-decibel blasts. Which, in case you're wondering, is like a jet engine at its loudest.

The Sophomores - 2011 Taurus vs. Teenagers
The key to serious peace of mind is now the key to your car. An industry-first, the MyKey technology can help young drivers make smart decisions. Some of its features include: a safety belt reminder that won't stop chiming until fastened, a 45% stereo volume limit and a top speed limiter of 80 mph.

Beauty & Strength
With assertive stance and sculpted lines, the 2011 Taurus is a balance of beauty and strength. Taurus design features include: Unique tri-bar grille, jeweled projector beam headlamps, power dome hood, prominent wheel arches that house several wheel designs, incandescent taillamps.

Test Drive
What it's like to drive a Taurus? Power delivery is confident. Handling is crisp. And you can run through the gears of the available 6-speed Selectshift Automatic? transmission with its paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Opt for the Taurus SHO and you'll also get all-wheel-drive traction plus the 3.5L EcoBoost twin turbocharged direct-injection V6 engine that delivers V6-like fuel economy* with V8-like performance - 365 horsepower and 350 lb. ft. of torque.

Massage Anyone?
Close attention to detail is apparent throughout the interior. Available multi-contour Active Motion? front seats provide a therapeutic massage to help reduce fatigue. The center stack flows into the armrest console at a perfectly driver-oriented 38º angle. Available leather-trimmed, heated/cooled front seats and adjustable ambient lighting let you get the environment just right. This is definitely a driver's car, from those massaging, fatigue-reducing, nerve-stimulating seats all the way on out.

Technologically Advanced

Navigation
The available Navigation System with SIRIUS Travel Link provides useful travel information as well as new HD Radio reception. Adaptive Cruise Control senses when to slow down your vehicle; Collision Warning with Brake Support warns you of a potential collision. BLIS® with Cross Traffic Alert virtually eliminates that annoying blind spot. Intelligent Access with Push Button Start makes it easier to enter and start your Taurus. It truly is amazing how many available intelligent features Taurus offers.

The SYNC® System
Ford SYNC® is a voice-activated communications system that allows you to operate most popular MP3 players, Bluetooth®-enabled phones and flash drives with simple voice commands.* Segment-exclusive SYNC includes 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report, plus Traffic, Directions and Information services, which now include the Send-to-SYNC feature. Send-to-SYNC lets you send a selected destination from the MapQuest site to SYNC, where you download it via your Bluetooth®-enabled phone and access it through the system's voice-guided turn-by-turn directions. SYNC is available on Taurus SE and SEL; standard on Limited and SHO.

MyKey
The standard class-exclusive* programmable MyKey feature employs several innovative tools designed to help parents encourage teenagers to drive safely. Standard settings (that cannot be altered or disabled) include: The Belt-Minder® System, which reminds front passenger occupants to buckle their safety belts, cannot be disabled and will not expire (the audio system also gets muted whenever BeltMinder is activated) Low-fuel warnings are displayed in the message center followed by a chime when the Distance-to-Empty value reaches 75 miles (120 km) If equipped, the available Reverse Sensing System, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert and forward collision warning cannot be deactivated. Optional settings, which can be changed by authorized users, include: Limiting the vehicle's maximum speed to 80 mph (130 kmh); visual warnings and chimes are displayed at the vehicle's start to inform the driver that the vehicle speed is limited to 80 mph (130 kmh) Should the vehicle speed limit setting be activated, at 75 mph the driver is given an audio warning that the vehicle is approaching the top speed; at 80 mph, the driver is warned that the vehicle has reached the top speed and is encouraged to check his/her speed - and drive safely - via visual warnings and chimes. There are several maximum speed settings available, including 45-, 55- or 65-mph (75-, 90-, or 105-kmh. The maximum volume of the audio system is limited to 45 percent. The AdvanceTrac® System cannot be turned off. When this setting is on, the MyKey user will not be able to deactivate the system. This prevents the driver from burning the tires, performing doughnuts and other unsafe practices.

BLIS®
The available class-exclusive* BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert is yet another innovation available on the 2011 Ford Taurus. When a vehicle enters the blind spot zone, an indicator light provides a warning in the outside mirror corresponding to the side from which the vehicle is approaching. The Cross Traffic Alert feature uses blind spot monitoring sensors to audibly and visually alert you to impending traffic while slowly backing out of a driveway/parking spot and another vehicle is approaching from either side. BLIS with Cross Traffic Alert is optional on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
